If you're anything like me, then you have a fixation for anything Native American. I get into it to the point that I honestly believe that in my most previous past life that I was a Native American that had to walk the trail of tears. I think I died on the trail of tears, thus it really annoys me when some white people go on about how America was founded on these principals or those principals when it was actually founded on monstrosity and genocide. That's just my opinion, but either way it is really hard for me to part with this piece not only because it exhibits extraordinary powers, but also because it means a lot more to me than it will to most. It is a beautifully fashioned piece and I'm not really sure who fashioned it, but I know it was made in Canada. Not only does the piece proudly boast that it was crafted in Canada, it is where I got the piece during a pow-wow of the Dakota Indians who once were the plains Indians who occupied the northern part of the American Canada with border and the southern parts of what is now known as Saskatchewan.

This pendant is that of a wise old owl. The owl embodies what it means to wise for several reasons. First, it has been sent by the Gods to preserve the sacred magic of the heavens. It bellows out these secrets in its mournful song that it sings while perched atop a tree or a barn. This is why the Natives place the owls at the top of the totem poles. The realize that the owl has this wisdom and that if they venerate the owl at the top of their totem during their spirit dances the owl will give them the wisdom and magic they need for the coming times. Second, the owl is many times considered to be the eyes of the gods. The owl is often times silent and simply uses its large, wide and curious eyes to watch. Then, he flies to the realm of the heavens to report what is going on in the realm of the mortals. Thus, he is a messenger bird between the two worlds. When you call upon the embodiment of the owl more times than not he gives you his full abilities, which would include being able to "fly" to the realm of the gods to also acquire their magic. This is why for years, the natives have been smart enough to realize that the owl is an animal worthy of veneration and worthy to summon. They've been doing it since the beginning of their time.
