Since ancient times the serpent has symbolized wisdom, death, and resurrection, which is perfect because this piece does all three for you. In early mystery schools of mysticism, the serpent was akin to "the Word", which is the knowledge and magic God used during the creation of Earth. The "light" that appears with "the Word" (aka Arcane Knowledge) is defined as the Kundalini Serpent that lies dormant in an unawakened person.
