For those of you who are familiar with Native magic the term potlatch will be familiar with you, for those you who are not, I will give an explanation. A potlatch is a gift-giving feast during which gifts are exchanged among the peoples of a Native American tribe. During the festivities their are dances done that invite the gods to the potlatch as a means to obtain the gifts that they have to give. One of these gifts is wealth and the Natives sought to acquire this wealth through health harvests, good returns, and, of course, special blessings. If you were lucky enough to have the gods attend your party, it was a productive ceremony and the gifts were bestowed upon the whole village, thus generating wealth or that particular tribe.
These pieces have been made at a powwow, during which a potlatch was held. Not only were the gods present for this ceremony, they also enchanted these few items. There always ancestors around us, dancing in realms apart from our own, or dancing in the sky. These pieces summon these ancient dancing native spirits who will come and do a potlatch dance for you. Instead of a good harvest full of crops, the energy that the natives have put into will go forth from the person who wears it to attract vast amounts of wealth!
