Inventing Ideas
"Creatures shall be seen upon the Earth who will fight one another incessantly, with very great losses and frequent deaths on either side. Their malice will know no bounds."
He should know, because he designed it: On behalf of Italy's powerful ruling families, Leonardo da Vinci produced the most terrible weapons. He realized that if he can already mount 36 guns on one machine, then why wouldn't someone in the future be able to accommodate 360 guns? Or invent guns that are 36 times more powerful than the previous models? He ha seen the battlefields of Italy, the rutted landscapes and the ravage fields. All the dead, Leonardo knew the number of victims would rise along with the increasing destructive power of weapons. He was right: In World War I, more than 1 million people were killed in the Battle of the Some alone!
