This piece comes after an investigation that we were on in a small village called Belmez, in Spain. For years, this place has been a hotspot of paranormal activity, even making it on some top ten lists of most mysterious places in the world. Aside from the a house that belonged to one Maria Pereira, the small village of Belmez is seemingly normal and it wasn't until the year 1971 that Maria first came through with claims that faces were appearing to her in the cement floor of her home. As the story goes, these faces would appear to Maria, but never really have much to say. Some of the faces would appear to Maria and remain; some would appear to her and the leave. Some would leave over time; but the faces would always come, regardless of the circumstance.
In fact, in an effort to rid herself of these facial phenomenon, Maria tore apart her entire cement floor to remodel a new one. It wasn't long after that the faces began to appear to her through the new the floor that she had replaced the old one with. Conversely, the faces began to appear even stronger and more vibrant than before. Maria began to receive visitors to her house to witness the phenomenon, themselves. There are those that are nay-sayers and insist that Maria painted these facesonto her floor as a means to create a paranormal attraction upon which people could feast their eyes, so she could make a profit. If that was the case, you wouldn't know it, considering the fact that she led a very simple life, with not much more than she needed to get by.
Aside form the fact that she lived a very meager lifestyle, the investigation that we went on will prove that the area upon which Maria's house sat upon is a spiritual hub of energies. Marie's house sits upon an ancient burial site that first used by the Romans, then by the Spanish Muslims, and finally by medieval Christians. Thus, her area of residence has an amassed quantity of spiritual and soul energy that is just ready to explode. You must also take into account that amria Maria had powers that she never even knew about, which were the key to what opened up Maria's realm of faces. She was a telekinetic who was giving off an energy that opened the door to a portal vortex through which spirits would travel. This is why the faces showed up on her floor, because she had opened up a door to the spiritual world. She never knew this about herself and unfortunately died in 2004 aware of her gift or abilities. It's okay though, because during the investigation we were able to pick up on her past energies that opened up the vortex in the first place. As for the vortex? It's just as strong as the one that we experienced in Cassadaga, for those of you who remember when we did that investigation.
