Powers of the Halcyon House

After the Revolutionary War and the establishment of Washington as the capital of the United States first secretary of the U.S. Navy, Benjamin Stoddert, built the Halcyon House on a bluff overlooking the Potomac River.

He named the house after a mythical bird that calms the sea. The original structure was small and elegant. Stoddert ran his own shipping business, which fell on hard times. By the time his tenure as Secretary of the Navy in 1801 ended, the last year of the John Adams administration, Stoddert was nearly destitute. He died virtually penniless in 1813.

The house then passed through the hands of a series of owners. During the Civil War, its basement was connected to a tunnel from the Potomac that was part of the Underground Railroad for runaway slaves.

According to legend, some slaves died in the basement, and began haunting it with ghostly moans and cries. The entrance to the tunnel was walled up around the turn of the 20th century, but the moans and cries continued to be heard.

In addition, mysterious shapes and the spirit of a woman reportedly were seen floating about the house at night.

In the 1930's, Halcyon House was acquired by a peculiar man named Albert Adist Clemons, who believed as long as he added on to the house, he would not die. He added apartments and facades, and made haphazard alterations, including a staircase that went nowhere, doors that opened to walls and rooms without walls. He also refused to wire the house for electricity, which discouraged prospective tenants.

Clemons's fervor failed to stave off death, and he died in 1938. Oddly, he left a will, and it instructed that upon his death his attending doctor should pierce or puncture his heart -- just to make sure he was dead.

After Clemons's death, haunting phenomena in the house increased. Residents and guests reported finding that closed windows had been opened, and engraving hung on a wall was repeatedly found on the floor, and odd sounds were heard, especially coming from the attic when no one was there.

Our gang visited the home to spend the night and investigate the hauntings that have been reported. After the first night Steve and Deedee reported that they awoke at night and found themselves floating above their beds -- Lindy and I saw the spirit of a short, old, balding, fat man roaming throughout the home; we later found a picture of Stoddert and realized that is who the spirit we saw was.

There also was a woman seen in the home, but we never learned who it was because we could not get communication with her.

On our last night we had a mass amount of information granted by ritual conjuring and energy manipulations that we used. We found an urn in the original portion of the home that held an array of mystical items.

We brought the finding to the owner and they said they clean the urn all the time and the only thing ever kept inside of it is the spare key to the china cabinet.

The urn was glowing, which is what led us to look at it, this is where we found the items. Since the owner of the property had not attachment and was unaware of the pieces, we were able to buy them from him.

These items have been tested and hold the power of the spirits that have been infused in the Halcyon Home for years. They are amazing and hold the abilities of penetration vision, radar sense, extra-dimensional energy control and radiation emission.

These are the strengths and powers the spirits used to ward off unwanted guests, or those who were there to harm the home; we came with cleansed spirits to showcase that we did not mean any harm and that is why we feel that we were blessed with being shown the power packed pieces!
