Neighbors have reported a faint that glows just behind the heavy drapes of the Lawson House.  However, the thick covering of drapes keeps the confines of the house hidden from the curious eye.  It's almost as if nobody wants you to know exactly what has been going on in the house.  It adds to the whole ambiance that encompasses the John Lawson House, at first glance.  Aside from the fact that the light remains on at night and off during the day, another mystery arises.  Nobody even knows who, if anyone occupies the house.  Public records indicate nothing and nobody ever sees anyone come to or from the house, which is situated among the history downtown New Hamburg, New York community.

Over the years the house has seen its fair share of tragedies, most notably when a locomotive derailed, smashing into the house and killing 22 residents that were occupying the building at the time.  Another tragedy hit when the entire block, save for the John Lawson house was destroyed in a massive fire.  Sounds creepy right?  This isn't even the best part yet!

Every day, the porch of the Lawson House has some unusual visitors.  They are life-sized mannequins, befitting for an oversize dollhouse.  The number of dolls, position of the dolls, and their attire and them varying form day to day.  Again, no living person has ever been entering or coming out of the home.  The closest thing anyone has to an answer is that glowing light that I told you about before, which only comes on at night.  The dolls hold the most peculiar things from hair brushes, to towels, to books, birdcages, and overflowing cups of potpourri.  It is safe to say, then, that the most bizarre part about this whole experience is that nobody seems to have a clue how this keeps happening.  Is there a person there, or is there something more sinister at play?  And if so, what is it?

We were called in to do an investigation, which was done by night, as to be able to conceal the fact that we were actually there.  whether or not the neighbors know that we were there I have no clue.  We haven't gotten any type of correspondence or annoying emails or letters from them so we can only allude to two conclusions.  Either they had no idea that we were there, or they are all in on what we have found, they all know about it, and they are all part of it.  It gives the perfect little "small town scenario."  I would tend to think of the latter as the factual evidence of our investigation, only because I'm not sure how we would have managed to conduct the investigation without a single eye batting in our direction.  Secondly, we never even met the person for whom we were conducting the investigation.  We simply got a letter imploring an investigation from a lady named Lenore.  Whether or not there is a Lenore, I'm not even fully sure.  Maybe she exists, maybe she doesn't.  All I know is that she was supposed to be there when we got there, but she never showed.  Which didn't surprise me given the fact that she was so apprehensive to give as much as a last name or an address.  Perhaps she is the whistle blower.  Who really knows, I mean, this whole operation has been done in confusion and mystery.  Well at least it was at first, until we discovered exactly what was going on.

During the course of our investigation, we have been able to uncover what exactly was going on in John Lawson house.  It appears that whomever lived in the Lawson house over the years has developed a keen sense for magic and the occult.  He is John Lawson himself, for whom the house has been named.  He might have a recorded death, but people fake their deaths all the time.  Then again, he could exist in only soul form.  Whatever the case may be there is an entity in that house.  He has used his magic to transform himself into a type of warlock called a Soul Trapper.  They specialize in trapping the souls of others into inanimate objects, in this case dolls (or mannequins or whatever you want to call them).  He has trapped the souls of the entire surrounding community into a number of mannequins, resurrecting his ancestors from the dead to take the places of the empty bodies that were left in the neighboring houses around him.

Thus, you could really just rename the entire town to Lawsonville, because the six houses in the historic downtown district where these houses are located have been completely revived with members of Lawson's family in the bodies of others.  As for the dolls, they are placed there by the orders of the John Lawson for those who would dare to attempt to uncover his mystery.  Not only were we successful in uncovering his mysteries, but we were able to extract some of his power from the house.  With this piece, you will be able to trap souls of your own.  Now, you won't be able to steal the souls of the living.  Rather, this piece lets you tap into the energies of those souls who are floating around in other levels existence, all around you.  You will be able to trap these souls to steal their powers and abilities, so the more you search for floating souls, the more powers you will gain.  This piece will become as powerful as you allow it to become through the effort you devote to it.  You can gain any power you want, as the energy we extracted was of dual nature-- neither light nor dark.
