We haven't put on a really good vampire piece for a while, so I'm actually kind of excited to list this one.  It's even more special because it comes from an all-original investigation and is an exclusive piece to Haunted Curiosities.  I comes from this place in Ohio.  The building is old and has been around for generations.  It's not technically a castle, but the place is big enough to be considered one.  For all intents and purposes, we will call it a mansion, because that's what it is.  It is a private estate and not many people knew that it was there.  I say knew because it no longer exists.  It was back a dirt road atop of a mountain in the westernmost parts of the Appalachians.  The name of the house was the Thornton Manor.  I'm not really sure why they called it that.
The Thornton Manor was built in the 1700s, after settlers began to make their way west.  It was the house of several prominent families, but after it was abandoned during the Civil War people didn't really bother with the property, it became overgrown.  The mansion briefly served as a gentleman's club called the Laissez-Faire.  It was shut down by the owner after a few short few months during which his dancers either went missing or would turn up dead with their throats ripped out.  The owner figured in was some local beast, maybe a bear or a mountain lion.  In this case, he intended to stay open for business and simpy trap and kill the animal that kept on killing his profit. He must have known something more than what he told everyone, because he turned up dead himself only a few weeks after he decided that he was going to rid the woods of this terror.
The thing is that nobody really did a formal investigation into the murder.  The legend had already been spreading that there was some kind of beast living in the woods, so it was assumed that the owner of the Laissez Faire met the same type of destiny.  The strange thing is that when they found his body, they also found a handgun with silver bullets in it, a few cloves of garlic, a stake, and a porcelain cross.  The crosss was busted in two, but was rearranged neatly with the victim.  There was some kind of strange marking carved into the forehead of this man who owned the diner.  Nobody was ever able to decipher the marking and the onwer was buried this way.  As we are not in the occupation of digging up graves, we didn't see it either.  I guess that part will remain local legend.
We were called after a contractor tried to restore the building, but when they went in and began moving things around and knocking things down the people on their team began to drop like flies.  One got pneumonia and died.  Another one had a wooden beam conk him on the head and got a really bad concussion, nearly killing him.  The final straw was when the team lead fell off of a three-story scaffolding.  The impact killed him instantly.  The construction contractor refused to do any more work.  The owner of the estate called us in to do an investigation.  Their plans for a bed and breakfast were halted in their tracks.
Our investigation was intense, but the most epic part of it came when we opened up a secret chamber in the basement of the mansion that had been boarded over.  In this secret chamber there was a statue of a man, about seven feet tall-- much larger than life.  He wore a top hat and monocle.  If I'm being fair, he kind of looked like a taller, thinner version of Pennybags from Monopoly.  The room smelled dank and musty.  On the wall opposite of the statue, was a large stone fireplace with two candle holders on either side.  The canldeholders were in the shape of griffins that were holding a torch.  In these were two half melted candles.  We lit the candles so we could see better, which we determined was probably a bad idea.  As soon as we lit the candles the statue came to life.
Now, I'm not saying that we are typically afraid of such entities, but this statue came to life with a snarl, bearing its fangs and screeching like a night owl.  It lept for Deedee, but she ducked and it ran into the wall, obviously a little bit rusty with its movement.  After this is lunged for me, grabbing me by my throat and lifitng me into the air.  He reared his ugly head back.  I could smell odor and decay coming it's mouth.  He leaned in to sink its fangs into my neck and I felt blood splatter on my neck.
It took me a few second to realize that the blood that was splattered was not mine, but that of the entity-- which by now we realized was obviously a vampire.  I guess Deedee had found a bit of old wood in the corner that she used to drive through the vampire's heart from the opposite direction, most likely saving my life.  Deedee laid her hands on the vampires head and was able to see this this is the entity that was terrorizing the manor.  He was cursed to this room, frozen to stone by the original builders of the estate, after they found out he was killing their livestock, even snatching up one of their young children and killing it.  It was bound in this room, never to released again.  They sealed his fate with the candles that we found.  When we lit them, we reversed the curse.
In prior years, this entity was leaving his statue in spirit form to possess the bodies of those who would pass by.  This is how he was killing his victims and getting his blood.  However, he could only go so far and when people vacated the premesis he no longer could feast on his meals.  He cursed the house, which is why the people that were remodeling began dying off.  When we lit the candle and his curse was reversed, he was reverted to his physical form, but you see how that worked out for him.  As his blood ran out of the wound in his heart, it began to collect in a little pool.  Some of it evaporated immediately, but some of it formed these little crystal like stones.
We managed to take one of these stones out of the investigation with us and explained to the new owners of the building what exactly was going on, without making us sound too crazy.  Some people just don't believe in the paranormal.  Such fools!  As for the blood crystal, we used it to make this piece.  In this sterling silver ring is the blood crystal that we brought back with us.  When you wear the ring, you gain the full powers of a sanguine vampire.  This includes super strength, power, speed, and agility.  It includes psionic abilities, such as telepathic communication, controlling the minds of others, mesmerization, and the ability to travel through other people's dreams.  This piece, when you have used it for long enough will grant you immortality and complete sanguine transformation, to where it will be like you were actually reborn as a vampire.  Until then, you will enjoy the other powers in this piece that I hav mentioned.  This piece also allows you to see into the future and the past.  It allows you to cast fire spells that you will do by lighting a candle and stating your intentions.  It will allow you to travel through realms in your astral form.  This is because when you wear this piece, you receive the resonance of vampire brain waves.  This is a short way of saying that recieve a sanguine awakening of full powers.  If vampires are your thing, then this piece is definitely for you!
