He’s almost like a grim reaper, but not quite. Rather, he is a traveling soul that has been traveling since before time was recorded. This means his existence predates even that of such civilizations as the Sumerians, the Etruscans, and the Phoenicians. Nobody knows for sure what kind of soul he is, but he travels. In ancient times he used to appear to people as the Angel of death death. However, he changed his appearance after the plague outbreak in the Middle Ages.
Given the fact that the soul was immortal and it could die, it would hop from body to body, taking the form of plague doctors and traveling throughout Europe and Eastern Asia. Those in the metaphysical circles call him by the name Dr. Death, because that is what he is known for causing. Not that plague doctors were the smartest individuals of their times, they at least gave advice with good intentions. Dr. Death purposely deceived people while he was dressed up as a plague doctor. He would purposely tell people things that he knew weren’t going to make them better or things that would make them worse.
When his unwitting patients finally died from his ill-advice, he was steal their souls. Each soul dies with energy, some die with magical powers. Some die with a host of magical powers. It didn’t matter which Dr. Death was getting, he’d feed off of the souls that he collected while on his rounds in medieval Europe. In doing this, he pretty much acquired all powers that there were to acquire. He gained all enlightenment. His psychic senses were opened. He could gain any type of power that he wanted. He just had to find the right soul.
Fast forward to future times and we have Dr. Death trapped into this piece. His killer instincts have been set to neutral through a white light divination we did on this piece. His soul possesses this item like he once possessed the bodies of the living. When you have this piece he will appear to you in holographic form, from his home in the ring.
