The Knights Templar knew that Edessa was a place of magic, that had once been visited by the Chaldean Magi. This is why when preaching the Second Crusade, rescuing Edessa from the recent takeover by the Turks was on the list of the major tasks that were to be accomplished by the crusade. Although this was never admitted aloud, it was clearly one of the reasons why the crusade was undertaken and carried out in the name of Christianity. It wasn't unlike George Bush's oil war in the name of freeing the Iraqi people. You see how well that's going, right? Either way, the ancient Knights Templar were right and they recapture Edessa and in the process, they procured some of the most powerful Chaldean magic that has been acquired in history. Of course, you wouldn't know that because it isn't written in the history books, because it would expose the secret society and then they'd have to admit magic was real and that is something that they never, ever want to do. You see, as embattled as these seats of power such as the Illuminati, The Freemason, the Green, and Red Societies, and the Knights Templar have in common is that they don't want the "regular" people to find out about magic. That would put them on an equal playing field.
Anyway, the relics that were captured from ancient Edessa are still in use today, simply because they are powerful and they can be. The piece that we have is not one of those original pieces. It is a copycat piece that was created for use as to not ruin the integrity of the original piece. This is the ability to call upon any angel and they will answer you. You will be able to call upon them and use their powers as you please.
