The write up for this piece isn't going to be incredibly long. Well, not as long as it could have been, anyway. You might have a few answers that you want to be answered. Just keep in mind these questions will be answered for you when you experience the piece that we are offering you. Just know that the piece once belonged to the royal family. I'm not sure exactly how this piece came out of their possession. We got this piece at the Black Bazaar. It is one of those classic pieces that holds a "change your life" type of magic. That's because the artifact that bears this piece and pieces that are like it is an ancient relic itself. It is called the Aegis.
It has never really been agreed upon what the Aegis really is. some said it was crafted with the head of a Gorgon. Others have said that is was a mere cloak or something else. I'm telling you the Aegis is the coming of age and the coming of power. It was worn by Athena in battle. The Iliad says the Aegis was woven with a hundred tassels of pure gold each worth 100 oxen. It says that they Aegis creates a sound like a myriad of roaring dragons and that it is ageless and immortal. That's because the Aegis is the materialization of magic. It is magic in the most physical form possible and it can grant magic and power beyond your wildest imagination. It can also change appearance and shape so as to beguile those who might seek it out.
The present-day owners of the Aegis is, of course, the royal family of England. How they came across the Aegis is anybody's guess, but they own it. The Aegis is kept in a wardrobe in a secret chamber at the Buckingham Palace. For centuries it has remained here, being the centerpiece for the royal family and their coming of age, magical rituals. As it stands, each of the royal family is given a special form of magic over which they will have full and complete control. Don't get me wrong, each of them has many powers and can perform many different types of magic. However, they each have one special magic that they receive that are ingrained into their core essence and who they really are. This is a magic that they have control over without even trying. It is given to them by the Aegis.
At the age of 13, the young members of the royal family are taken to Buckingham Palace, to the secret chamber where the Aegis' wardrobe is kept. They are instructed to enter the wardrobe, but they must do so completely naked. The wardrobe is opened and the youngster is instructed to go forth and seek the Aegis. Before they are allowed to connect to the Aegis, they must perform a ritual for it. This comes either in the form of a sexual rite or a blood rite. They can choose what they will do. There is a human reserved for the youngster and they will inspect that person and do as they see fit, either sex them up or kill. The choice is theirs. Either way, the energies will flow.
After the ritual is done, they drape the Aegis around themselves and they are taken from their body and transported back to their time of birth. They are allowed to experience their birth, after which time freezes and an ancient entity called the Aegis Sage appears. He reads the teenager standing before him. He then enters their body, knowing every part of them. After this, he chooses and power and gives it to them. He also gives them a piece of jewelry that is used to control their magic. He then sends them back to the mortal realm, where the teenager spends 3 days locked in the chamber with the Aegis and their piece. At the end of these three days, they will have molted their old skin and grown into an immortal being that will age naturally on the outside but remains immortal on the inside. Why do you think the current queen has reigned so long? she's not ready to give up the throne. That's why!
After growing into their new skin, the power that was given to them will become them. They will know it inside and out. It will become their native power and native magic. The piece that was given to them by the Aegis becomes their spirit guide, allowing them to have full control over their magic and teaching them how to use it properly. This process is also undergone when somebody becomes part of the royal family either via marriage or via adoption. This is why they had to kill Princess Di. They didn't want their secret to fall into the hands of somebody. They certainly didn't want people to know they had the Aegis. It is one of the most sought after artifacts in history.
This piece fell into our hands, so I guess in some ways they lose. Again, I don't know how they lost possession of this piece, but they have. This piece was given to a member of the royal family. To whom it was given is a mystery to us as it will be to you. It's not important. The magic that is in this piece gives the presence of the Aegis to those who use it. What I mean by this is not that you will receive the actual Aegis. Rather, this piece holds the life essence of the Aegis. As such, it has the ability to bring many, many powers and forms of magic to the person who wears it. The person who wears it will be able to wear many magical skins. No worries, you won't have to molt like the royals. Rather, the molting that needs to take place happens at the soul and it's not so much of a molting as it is a growing. Each time you use the Aegis, your soul will grow by a fraction of matter to accommodate for the new magic you are receiving.
When using this piece you will simply wear it. Another amazing thing about this piece is that you will not receive random magic. Rather, you will be able to choose what power or magic you want to get. All you have to do is project into reality the magic that you want to receive. You will do this with a thoughtform. The powers in this piece and the life essence of the Aegis will pick up on this and you will receive the magic that you have asked for. It will become ingrained in you and part of you, just like the magic of the royals is ingrained in them by the Aegis. The difference is that you will be able to use this piece again and again, in order to grow your arsenal of magic. This piece also grants immortality, but in the way, I talked about before. Your body will still continue to age, however, it will eventually hit a "sweet spot" and that is the condition in which you will live until you decide your time on Earth is done.
